Sandy Creek Christian Academy was founded in 1982 as a ministry of The Tabernacle. The school was created to provide access to quality, God-centered education for the people of Seymour, IN. Beginning with only a few students and classes being held in the church, SCCA has grown to 150+ students, with a beautiful campus on the edge of Seymour. Now, for 44 years, SCCA has been a place of hope, opportunity, and new beginnings.
Sandy Creek Christian Academy is a growing, Christ-centered community where students are encouraged to develop their God-given abilities in academics, leadership, service, and character. We believe education is most effective when it shapes both the mind and the heart. Our caring, dedicated educators serve not only as teachers, but as mentors who intentionally invest in each student’s spiritual and personal growth.

More than any achievement or honor, it is the people of SCCA—our faculty, students, and families—who define what makes our school exceptional.
Sandy Creek Christian Academy is accredited by the Indiana Department of Education (DOE), Cognia, and the International Christian Accrediting Association (ICAA). These groups visit and review our school to make sure students learn well and are safe. This means families can trust our education, and students can move easily to other schools and can go to any college that they would like.
At the heart of Sandy Creek Christian Academy is a commitment to guiding every student toward a personal understanding of faith and encouraging them to grow in a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Sandy Creek Christian Academy is dedicated to cultivating a Christ-centered foundation that grows with students from their earliest years through graduation. Biblical learning begins in the primary grades as students are introduced to Scripture through key Bible accounts and the central message of Jesus Christ. Scripture memory and biblical principles are emphasized to help students develop strong character and a clear understanding of how faith applies to everyday life.
As students mature, instruction moves beyond knowledge to application. They study the Gospel, the nature and character of God, and learn how biblical truth informs their choices, relationships, and responsibilities. Opportunities for stewardship and service help students put faith into action by supporting ministries and serving others.
Students actively participate in chapel services throughout their school experience, creating space for worship, teaching, and spiritual reflection. Through IGNITE student ministries, SCCA’s student-led worship and discipleship program, students are encouraged to grow in leadership, engage deeply with their faith, and support one another in their walk with Christ. In middle and high school, this intentional focus on discipleship, combined with service opportunities and outreach experiences, equips students to live out their faith with confidence and purpose beyond the classroom.
HISTORY
Sandy Creek Christian Academy was established in 1982 as a private, Christian school serving students from kindergarten through 12th grade in Seymour, Indiana. From its beginning, the school has centered its identity on combining academic excellence with a strong biblical foundation, grounded in Christian principles and a Pentecostal faith tradition.
Over more than three decades, SCCA has grown into a close-knit learning community known for small class sizes, personal attention from faculty, and a focus on spiritual development as well as scholastic achievement. Families choose SCCA for its commitment to both rigorous academics and spiritual formation, creating an environment where students are encouraged to grow in Christ while preparing for future educational and life opportunities.
Today, SCCA continues that legacy by maintaining its mission to prepare students to excel through outstanding instruction and Christian values, while fostering a community that values faith, character, and service.
